My weekends are typically low-key and involve PINK sweatpants, napping, and maybe a little grocery shopping. Last weekend I decided to step up my game and treat myself to a skin care and makeup lesson after I randomly stumbled across RC Apothecary in a fantastic Plum District deal.
Frederick is one of our favorite weekend destinations, but I wasn’t familiar with RC Apothecary or the owner Rebecca when I bought the deal on Plum District. The minute I walked into the beautiful shop and saw her flawless skin and gorgeous makeup I knew that my wallet was in trouble that I was in good hands.

A sunscreen that’s also an anti-aging moisturizer and doesn’t look cakey under makeup? Yes please!
Organic skin care products that aren’t outrageously expensive? Check!
A set of night and day eye cream and gel for only $50? You bet!
A fresh-faced look reminiscent of Kate Middleton instead of the smoky eye/pink gloss I’ve done since high school? Love it!
In less than an hour filled with laughing and girl talk, I learned some makeup and skin care tips that I had never heard before and had a whole new look! I really appreciated Rebecca’s fondness for multitasking products that would save me both time and money. She was really helpful and answered all of my questions, and unlike most cosmetic counters, there was no hard selling. If you’re local to the Frederick area, I would highly recommend you stop by and pay her a visit if you’re in the mood to tweak your summer routine! It was such an affordable way to pamper myself, and it really gave me a confidence boost.
